The Winter Coasteer

If you are looking to book summer dates between 16th May  - 31st October 2025 please go to our Summer Activities section and click The Coasteer.   WE ARE OPEN ALL YEAR !  Try the thrill and exhilaration of the ocean during the winter months.   It might be cold but don't let that put you off !  Our equipment will keep you as warm as toast  and it really is  an amazing time of year to explore Cornwall's coastline. The winter weather patterns fluctuate day by day, it can be crisp, bright and chilly one day and mild wet and windy the next.  We run sessions right through the winter months these are usually small groups and in many cases like having your own private coasteer, which is why we have to charge a little more for them but still offer incredible value. We offer our 5mm thick C Skin wetsuits with boots and gloves included (for both children and adults) you will be warm whatever the weather we promise. Winter means we stick to the most sheltered spots to create an epic coasteer session. During our  3 hour coasteers which includes jumping, climbing and swimming as we explore along our rugged coastal routes here in Newquay on the beautiful North Coast of Cornwall. Available all winter until 16th May 2025 .  Itinerary Our Winter Coasteer sessions take approximately 3 hours out of your day. Roughly 1 hour of this will be kitting up and kitting down as well as a 15 -20 minute briefing. Approximately 2 hours is water time. We supply your helmet, a 5mm winter wetsuit, buoyancy aid, neoprene shorts and one of our famous yellow rash vests. For the Winter Coasteer we include boots and gloves within the price. All you need to bring with you is a towel. We ask you to fill in our participation form when you arrive. We have a changing area and lockers to keep your belongings under lock and key during your Coasteer. Once you are changed we walk to the route, which is 5 minutes away. On arrival at the start of our route we sit you down and give you a detailed 10-15 minute safety briefing before you enter the water. This covers the key aspects of coasteering techniques you will need to know for your session. Once the briefing is completed … off we go. We explore the coast finding places to jump, swim and traverse. We also bump into an array of local seabirds and even the odd seal. The jumps are fun; we will progress from small starter jumps of a couple of feet up to much larger ones if you are happy to do so. We never pressure guests, you only do the things you are 100% happy to do, there is always an alternative. It is huge fun and we are right there with you every step of the way to make sure you have the most amazing time! PLEASE NOTE SOME KEY POINTS -  YOU MUST  REASONABLY  FIT AND BE A CONFIDENT SWIMMER TO TAKE PART IN THIS ACTIVITY. OUR YOUNGEST AGE IS 8 YEARS OLD - THIS IS DUE TO SIZE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO BE A MINIMUM FIT WE DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN UNDER 18 WITHOUT AN ADULT (18+) ACCOMPANYING THEM. PLEASE GIVE US A CALL TO DISCUSS IF REQUIRED.  OUR MINIMUM GROUP SIZE IS 2 PEOPLE . WE DO NOT RUN SESSIONS FOR ONE PERSON PLEASE CHECK IN WITH US  BEFORE YOU BOOK IF YOU ARE A SINGLE PERSON. WE TAKE PHOTOS OF THE COASTEER SESSIONS WHICH WE SEND TO YOU AT NO COST. WE MIGHT USE ONE OR TWO SHOTS OR VIDEO's FOR SOCIAL MEDIA OR ON OUR WEBSITE, SO PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT PHOTOS TAKEN ( WE DO NOT USE SHOTS OF CHILDREN ).
