Head down to the Jurassic coast in Dorset and spend the weekend with our highly qualified, friendly and passionate coaches who will be on hand to teach you all the skills of sea kayaking giving you the confidence and knowledge to head off on adventures of your own.
The Jurrasic coast has so many amazing locations to sea kayak so during your weekend you will get to launch from various sites including Swanage, Studland, Kimmeridge, Ringstead and Portland this will be decided by the sea and weather conditions on the weekend of your course . All launch sites are no more than 40 mins from Swanage. Along the Jurassic coast you will get to visit UNESCO world heritage sites including Old harry rocks and the giant archway of Durdle door.
We supply all sea kayaking equipment for your course so you can just turn up on the Saturday ready to head out on the water. We have a fleet of P&H sea kayaks giving you the real sea kayaking experience this is a great way to demo the sea kayaks if you are thinking of buying your own in the future. included in your weekend are Buoyancy aids, paddles, helmets and a dry bag for your personal items.
Our learn to sea kayak weekend is part of the British Canoeing personal performance awards where you can work towards various certificates depending on what level of skill you finish the weekend on. theses awards are great as you can keep coming back or take your skills to other locations to be assessed by other coaches. Check out the personal performance awards on the British canoeing website for more details. Your coaches are British canoeing qualified in both coaching and guiding.
During your course you will learn all about sea kayaking equipment needed to take out on each trip, route planning including tide flow and weather. A wide range of sea kayaking skills, Rescue techniques and towing. Our course is there to work with the individual needs as well as the group and we will work with you all so you get as much as you want out of the course. Children 15+ accompanied by an adult

Day 1

We'll meet at our headquarters at Swanage Boat Park. There is no parking on site but parking is available from Broad road car park only 2 mins walk from the boat park. Our courses cover a wide range of skills and we will tailor the course on the day to the group. Day 1 will cover sea kayak set up safety briefing and understanding the safe use of equipment before heading out into Swanage Bay.
During Day 1 we will head out on a trip along the seafront and onto the white chalky cliffs with its series of caves and stacks, there are so many opportunities for coaching skills. along the cliffs we will head to the UNESCO world heritage site of Old harry rocks where we will get to explore and stop on the rock for our lunch which is perfect for photos. Please bring with you lunch and drinks for the day there may be an opportunity for ice cream stops. We plan to finish back at Swanage for around 3.30-4.00 pm where we will have a de-brief of the day's efforts and skills learned before planning day 2 of the course.

Day 2

Day 2 venue to be decided at the end of day 1 . We will travel to location 2 and head off for another days adventure and continuing our skills coaching and covering aspects of the course helping you achieve your sea kayak award by the end of day 2 . We aim to finish day 2 by 3.30 pm
